How It All Started

Growing up, my happiest memories always seemed to revolve around the kitchen—watching my grandmother knead dough for Sunday breakfasts, helping my dad grill summer dinners, or experimenting with new dessert ideas after school. I was that kid who begged to lick the spoon, always eager to see what we’d cook up next.

The spark for Spoon Craze really ignited during college. I moved into my own place, and suddenly I was responsible for every meal. It wasn’t just about feeding myself—I realized cooking could be a creative escape and a way to bring friends together. Some of my favorite memories come from potlucks in cramped dorm kitchens or impromptu brunches with homemade cinnamon rolls.

After years of sharing recipes (and food photos!) with family and friends, I realized my passion for cooking could help others find that same joy. That’s why I started Spoon Craze—to document my kitchen wins, share what I’ve learned, and help busy home cooks fall in love with the process, not just the finished dish. As the heart behind Spoon Craze, I dream up, test, and photograph every recipe you see here. My culinary journey began in family kitchens and led me to formal classes, food competitions, and award-winning blog posts. I believe in approachable cooking with a creative twist, and nothing makes me happier than helping someone master a new dish. Outside the kitchen, I’m an amateur gardener and a fan of cozy mystery novels.

Jamie Lin – Assistant Editor & Tester

Jamie brings a sharp eye for detail and a passion for recipe testing. With a background in nutrition and years of hands-on experience, she ensures every post is clear, accurate, and delicious. Jamie loves organizing potlucks and is known for her killer guacamole recipe. She’s also an avid hiker and dog lover.
